As a wedding planner in New Orleans, I am constantly reminded of the special bond that exists between couples on their big day. For Caroline and Michael, that bond began on a beach in North Myrtle, South Carolina, and was solidified on a camping trip in the Catskills when Michael popped the question. These two already tied the knot during covid, but we planned a delayed reception or as we like to say, "a New Orleans Fete" to finally celebrate their marriage with all of their loved ones!
When it came time to choose a wedding venue, the couple was drawn to the classic, New Orleans-style courtyard at the Court of Two Sisters. They loved the idea of everything being in-house and found the planning process much easier as a result.
One of the highlights of the planning process for Caroline and Michael was visiting New Orleans and all the a few different venues before making their final decision. They even had a little fun with it, with Michael's flight being canceled and him sending a friend in his place to check out the venues.
For couples planning their own weddings, Caroline and Michael have some wise advice: designate one night a week for wedding planning to avoid getting overwhelmed, and definitely consider a second line. On the big day itself, Caroline and Michael's favorite memory was the second line and dancing the night away at the Gold Mine.
As for what's next for this happy couple, they're looking forward to the next 28 years of their mortgage and are excited to see what the future holds - whether that be kids, a dog, or even a professional sports franchise.
