St. Peter's by the Sea Catholic Church, known by many as the 'Little Blue Church', is a gem placed in the most heavenly location. If you are ever on the Big Island of Hawaii and happen to be in Kona on Alli'i Dr. make sure to drive slow or you will miss it.
I promise you will fall head over heels when you see it! — Of course, I immediately started dreaming of ALL the planning possibilities: A small wedding, an intimate covid-friendly sized ceremony, elopements, vow renewals... the list goes on and on.
The 140 year-old church sits right on Kahalu’u Beach, where many snorkel and learn to surf. Making it a picturesque venue for an intimate wedding. It is the perfect spot for the couple torn between a seaside wedding and a traditional Catholic ceremony.
There are only 12 small pews that each hold two to three people. With no electricity, weddings and Mass held during the day with doors and windows open to allow for the sea breeze.
There is a simplistically beautiful glass window with an etched scene of Peter and Jesus overlooking the ocean, but it didn't come through in my photo. I guess you will have to plan to go see it for yourself!
